MEADVILLE — Services for Nathaniel Coleman, 89, who died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, at Countrybrook Living Center in Brookhaven, will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Siloam Baptist Church in Meadville with the Rev. Leon Wallace officiating.
Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sharkey Funeral Home.
Mr. Coleman was born Feb. 17, 1927, in Wisner, La., the son of Abe Nathaniel and Eunice Whittington Coleman.
He was a member of Siloam Baptist Church. He also served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Coleman worked at the Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company in Natchez as a tire builder. He enjoyed woodworking, camping and spending time outdoors with family and friends.
He was a loving son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, 1st Sgt. Robert Nicholas Barton II; five sisters; and one brother.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Jo Beth Tradewell Coleman; two daughters, Mariea Coleman Torrey and husband, Joe, of Vicksburg, and Theresa Ann Coleman of Baton Rouge; two sons, Nathaniel J. Coleman of Liberty and Adrian Coleman and wife, Melissa, of McCall Creek; two sisters, Genevieve Coleman Blalock and Blondell Coleman Blalock; one brother, Kelly Coleman; six grandchildren, Nathaniel “Nathan” Coleman, Joshua Torrey, Candice Torrey, Amanda Higgins, Trinity Coleman and Casie Lambert; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of choice.
