VIDALIA — Services for Roy William McKinney, 76, of Vidalia, who died Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at Promise Rehabilitation Hospital in Vidalia, will be 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Wes Faulk, the Rev. Bill McCullin and Dr. Ralph Webber officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service today at the church.

Mr. McKinney was born Feb. 12, 1940, in Adams County, the son of Roy William McKinney Sr. and Laura Elizabeth Franks McKinney. His father passed away when he was 2 and a half years old and his mother when he was 15 years old, and Elza and Veta King took him in until he got married. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Vidalia and a member of the Caring Sunday school class.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elza and Veta King, one brother and one sister.

Survivors include his wife, Gwen McKinney, of Vidalia; one daughter, Nikki McKinney of Brandon; one son, Christopher McKinney of Brandon; two granddaughters: Karlee and Kaylee McKinney both of Brandon: and two sisters: Marie Bailey of Social Circle, Ga., and Treva Sellers of Athens, Ga.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Gardner, James Thomas, Brent Gore, Ken Young, Jon Betts and Ken Allen.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Caring Sunday school class and the greeters of First Baptist Church in Vidalia.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Vidalia.
