FERRIDAY — Services for Emmalean Crumb Broom, 82, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2016, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at New Morning Star Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Danny Lewis officiating.
Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Broom was born June 25, 1934, in Monterey, the daughter of Levier and Sarah Edwards Crumb.
She was a retired educator for the Adams County school district.
Mrs. Broom also served on the mother’s board at New Morning Star Baptist Church, was a member of the Matron’s Civic Club and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 536.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Prince Broom Sr.; her parents; and one sister, Irma Pryor.
Survivors include one son, Prince Broom Jr. of Fairburn, Ga.; two stepdaughters, Gwendolyn Sims of Roxie and Jerutha Lee of Kenner, La.; one granddaughter, Ashley Skipper; two great-granddaughters, Ashyree Edwards and Ambree Thompson; a special friend, Dorothy Matthews and husband, Rodney, all of Ferriday; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
