Nubian Social Aid & Pleasure Club celebrates the Mardi season with its sixth Annual Tableau Mardi Gras Ball on Saturday, Jan. 21 at the Natchez Convention Center.

King Marques January
Marques January resides in Alabaster, Ala. He is married to Linda Armstead January and they are the proud parents of Tyler and Taylor January. He is the son of Andrew and Margaret January.
Marques is a 1998 graduate of Natchez High School and a graduate of Mississippi State University. He received a bachelor’s of science degree and a MBA.
He is employed with Spectrum (formerly Charter Communications /Time Warner) as a senior manager.
Marques enjoys spending time with family and electronic devices.
Queen Margaret January
Margaret January is married to Andrew January. They are the parents of Andrea Bonds and Marques January and the proud grandparents to Alexes, Cody, Tyler and Taylor. She is the daughter of Viola Bennett and the late Walter Bennett.
Margaret is employed with the Natchez Adams School District. She attended Co-Lin Jr. College and the University of Southern Mississippi, and is a 1993 Leadership Natchez graduate.
She was a founding member of the Krewe of MER, where she served as Queen in 1994.
Margaret enjoys spending time with family and shopping.
Chieftess Alexine Jordan
Alexine Jordan is the oldest daughter of Eliza Quinn and the late Cicero Quinn Jr. and the late David Duncan. She currently resides in Brookhaven where she taught for 39 years at Mamie Martin Elementary School.
She is the mother of two, Janelle Graham and Jeffrey Jordan and the grandmother of Kia, Kobe, Kaleb and Rianna.
Alexine is a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, where she has served for decades in many capacities. She enjoys tutoring at the after school program she started after retirement.
She is a member of Friendship No. 698 Elks Lodge and a Board member of the O Foundation.
He favorite scripture is Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a clean heart; O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”
Maid Jamaliette Ke’Porshe Combs
Jamaliette Combs is the daughter of Porcia Combs and Rufus Davis Jr. and the maternal granddaughter of Patricia and Willie Bruce and the paternal granddaughter of Rufus Sr. and Bobby Davis.
She is currently enrolled in Jefferson County High School where she is a 10th grade honor student. She is a member of the Greater Faith Worship Center under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. J.L. Hammett. She is the oldest sister of Jordan, Abigail and Rufus III. Jamaliette is a member of the Jefferson County High School Tigerette Squad and Student Government Association. She is also a member of the Greater Faith Worship Center mime team.
After high school, Jamaliette plans to attend the University of Southern Mississippi and major in nursing. Her dreams are to one day become a nurse practitioner.
Maid Jerita Baker
Jerita Baker is the daughter of Jerry and Anita Baker. She is a resident of Brookhaven.
Jerita is a junior at Brookhaven High School. She is a member of the Pride of Ole Brook Marching Band where she plays the clarinet. She is also a member of the National Honor Society.
Jerita is a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where she is an active member of the choir and youth department.
Maid Jakayla Lanitra Barnes
Jakayla Barnes is the daughter of Geneva and Michael Bacon.
She attends Natchez High School where she is currently in the 10th grade. She aspires to attend Jackson State University.
Jakayla attends Pilgrim Baptist Church. Her hobbies are dancing, shopping and spending time with family and friends.
Junior Duke George Edward Frye Jr.
George Frye Jr. is the son of Lakisia and George Frye Sr. He attends Jefferson County High School where he maintains a 3.4 GPA. He is a member of many organizations such as the Student Goverment Associaition, TSA, band and Kappa League. George serves as head drum- major for the Jefferson County High School Sounds of Thunder Marching Band and he is the vice president of the Kappa League.
He plans to attend Alcorn State University where he will major in biology pre-med and pursue a career as a physical therapist. George’s wishes are to help people in need.
His favorite motto is: Obstacles are what you see when you take your eye off the goal. Giving up is not my style. I just want to do something that’s worthwhile.
Junior Duke Robert Hargrave Jr.
Robert is the 17 year old son of Shelrecker and the late Robert Hargrave Sr. He is the grandson of Lucy Brown, Gloria Harris, Doris and the late Eddie Hargrave, Sr.
He is a senior at Cathedral Catholic High School where he currently has a 3.6 grade point average. Robert is very athletic in football and baseball. He has received letters of acceptance to LSU in Baton Rouge and Tech University in Ruston, where he would like to pursue a career in engineering. At this time he is undecided as to which university he will attend. Robert will continue playing football at the university he chooses to enroll.
Junior Duke Kaleab Wade Robinson
Kaleab is the son of Joyce Coulston and the grandson of Willie and Sheryl Woods
Kaleab is an 11th grade student at Natchez Early College Academy. He is a member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church where he serves as a Jr. Deacon. Kaleab is a member of the Natchez High School football and power lifting teams. His service activities include: the Natchez Stewpot, volunteering at various nursing homes, and neighborhood cleanup. He has received awards from the Natchez Recreation Department Youth Division and Fishing Second place.
Kaleab enjoys playing sports, & other outside recreational activities and spending time with family and friends.
