VIDALIA — Services for Evelyn Mize Mohon, 77, of Vidalia, who died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, in Ferriday, surrounded by her family and friends singing Christian songs at the time of her departure, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Calvary Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Ron Ledford officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Mohon was born Aug. 8, 1939, in Newellton, La., the daughter of Guy Clinton Mize and Maxine Webb.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Mohon; her parents; two brothers, Johnny Mize and Robert Mize; one grandson, Kyle Edward Mohon; three nieces, Debra Gossett, Sharon Walker and Dell Sweat; and two nephews, Wesley Mize and Daniel Mize.
Survivors include three sons, Guy Long, Matt Long and wife, Rhonda, and Neil Mohon and wife, Margaret, all of Vidalia; three brothers, Owen Mize of Ferriday, Ray Mize and wife, Anna, and Richard Mize and wife, Brenda, all of Waterproof; four sisters, Ann Walker and husband, George, Wanda Fife and husband, Kenny, and Becky Lee and husband, Johnny, all of Monterey, and Darline Sweat and husband, Jerry, of Ferriday; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be James Cockerham, Frankie Rand, Brandon Davis, Brad Fife, Timothy Mize and James Smith.
Honorary pallbearer will be Chris Hodge.
