VIDALIA — Services for Sybil Annette Nugent, 71, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017, in Ferriday, will be 11 a.m. today at Riverside Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Glenn Harrigill officiating.
Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery in Sicily Island under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nugent was born Oct. 22, 1945, in Jonesville, the daughter of Edward Carlton and Hattie Gardner Carlton.
She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church.
Mrs. Nugent was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Cindi Nugent Evans; four brothers, Donnie Carlton, Wonnie Carlton, Vernon Carlton and Oscar Carlton.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Shelby Nugent; one son, Randy Nugent of Ferriday; three grandsons, Scott Nugent and wife, Angel, Brent Evans and wife, Courtney, and Cameron Nugent, all of Ferriday; four granddaughters, Kayla Nugent, Amy Nugent and Cassie Clem, all of Ferriday, and Hannah Boyd of Natchez; four sisters, Elaine McEntyre and husband, Jerry, and Margie Carlton, all of Ferriday, Peggy Adams of Monterey and Inez King of Baton Rouge; three brothers, Sonny Carlton and wife, Elaine, of Wildsville, David Carlton and wife, Linda, of Natchez and Shelby Carlton and wife, Sally, of Ferriday; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Cameron Nugent, Randy Nugent, Brent Evans, Scott Nugent, Kory Landry and Jerry McJimsey.
