NATCHEZ — Services for Virginia Bell Cook, 72, of Upper Marlboro, Md., who died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, at Prince George Hospital in Maryland, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Marshall Funeral Home Natchez Chapel with the Rev. Luther Bonds Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Ms. Cook was born July 10, 1944, in Natchez, the daughter of Bennie Bell Sr. and Matteal Patterson Bell.
She was a faithful and devoted member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church and served on the usher board as well as the pastor’s aid ministry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bennie Bell Jr.; and one sister, Laurence Beamer.
Survivors include three daughters, Rochell Denise Cook, Elaine Cook Thomas and husband, Michael, and Clarice Cook Ward and husband, Dion; five grandchildren, Dion Ward Jr., Diamond Ward, Stephen Cook, Jenise Cook and Jeffrey Cook; one great-grandchild, Stephen Cook Jr.; five brothers, William E. Bell and wife, Mildred, and Roy Bell, all of Natchez, Simon “Frank” Bell of San Antonio, Texas, John M. Bell of Arlington, Texas and Warner Bell of Philadelphia; one sister, Julia Bell and husband, Earl, of Philadelphia; a special friend, Fannie Norris; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
