VIDALIA — Services for Vera Morales Whitley, 70, of Vidalia, who died Thursday, March 2, 2017, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Triumph Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Leon Dixon officiating.
Burial will follow at the St. Matthew Baptist Church Cemetery at Lake St. John under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Order of Eastern Star No. 61 ceremonies at 6 p.m.
Mrs. Whitley was born Feb. 16, 1947, in Ferriday, the daughter of John Stevenson and Ruby Lee Morales.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star No. 61 and was formerly employed by Vidalia Apparel.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Pete and Rosanna Morales.
Survivors include three sons, Eric Whitley, Kenneth Morales and Ronnie Morales and wife, Tassika, all of Vidalia; one brother, J.D. Stevenson and wife, Annie, of Pineville, La.; three sisters, Angela Morales of West Monroe, La., Rosemary Morales of Vidalia and Joyce Johnson of Ferriday; two aunts, Eliza Williams and husband, Robert Earl, of St. Joseph and Juliann Robinson of Vidalia; two uncles, Lucky Morales and wife, Lillian, of Ferriday and Johnny Mack Morales of Vidalia; six grandchildren, Christopher King, Tionna Morales, Taylour Morales, Danilla Jefferson and Erin Whitley, all of Vidalia, and Jashondra Smith of Ferriday; and two special friends, Archie Johnson of Ferriday and LaSandra Holt and husband, Alfred, of Vidalia.
