Norvelle Laird Wells

VICKSBURG — Services for Norvelle Laird Wells, 86, of Slaughter, La., who died Tuesday, April 11, 2917, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. today at the Woodlawn Baptist Church in Vicksburg with the Rev. Kent Campbell officiating.
Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at the East Fork Baptist Church   Cemetery in Amite County under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mrs. Wells was born in Baton Rouge but lived most of her life in Natchez. She was an active member of the Morgantown Baptist Church and later lived in Vicksburg for a number of years before returning to Louisiana.
While living in Vicksburg, she was an active member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Lucille Schutzman Laird; her husband, Charles Donald Wells; and one daughter, Mavis Wells Creech.
Survivors include two sons, Chris Wells and wife, Laura, of Vicksburg and Dr. Don Charles Wells Jr. and wife, Lynn, of Longview, Texas; two sisters, Audrey Hall and husband, Eddie, of Slaughter, and Alta Rae Coates and husband, Russell, of Zachary, La.; one brother, Kenneth Laird and wife, Kathy, of Pride, La.; three grandchildren, Melissa Smithhart and husband, Ben, Kate Wells and husband, Julian, and Anna Galvis; and four great-grandchildren, Carter Smithhart, Riley Ann Smithhart, Cecilia Galvis and Vivienne Galvis.
Pallbearers will be Paul Banchetti, Bobby Smithhart, Richard Schmitt, Richard Schmitt II, Tommy Wilkinson and Wayne Henderson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Oxford, Clifton Hall, Maitland Hall, Dale Wesley and Cecil Hollowell.
