NATCHEZ — Services for Eliza Marie “Mama Sis” Robinson Johnson, 84, of Natchez, who died Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. James Beverly officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. today at the funeral home with a celebration of life wake service at 5:15 p.m.
Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Johnson was born Feb. 28, 1933, in Adams County, the daughter of James Robinson Jr. and Eliza Thomas Quinn.
She attended school in Adams County and was a retired cook and caterer with the Carriage House ( 33 years) and AJFC Head Start (36 years.)
Mrs. Johnson was a member of Mount Bruin Baptist Church where she served on the mother’s board. She enjoyed cooking and being a caregiver.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Mary Luss; one son, Richard Robinson; two brothers, Henry Robinson and James Robinson; and four sisters, Charlotte Curtis, Julia Lewis, Rosie Lee Hunter and Laura Foster.
Survivors include four sons, Leslie Robinson, Benjamin Jerome Robinson, Kenny Robinson and wife, Shawanda, and Arthur Robinson and wife, Yolanda; two adopted sons, Larry Hardin and Pete Bland; four daughters, Deloris Beverly and husband, James, Julia Griffin, Helen Jackson and husband, Gerald, and Wanda Ceasor and husband, Alton; one godson, Cedric Scott; a special cousin who was raised as a sister, Catherine Minor; 28 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
