ARCHIBALD, La. — Graveside services for Myrtle Lou Sanford Green, 83, of Natchez, who died Monday, May 15, 2017, at Franklin Memorial Hospital, will be noon Saturday at Lynn Cemetery in Archibald, La., with the Rev. Joel Parker officiating.  

Burial will follow under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville.

Mrs. Green was born April 4, 1934, in Rayville, La., the daughter of Leonard Allen Sanford and Almeda Walters Sanford.

She attended Springfield Baptist Church.

Mrs. Green was well loved by her family and many friends. She especially enjoyed when the neighbor’s children and grandchildren would visit. She loved to cook for everyone who came by and always had a story to tell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six siblings, Dorothy Raye Spencer Joiner, Audrey Morgan, William James Sanford, Beatrice Copeland, Billy Paul Sanford and Wayne Allen Sanford; her husband and the father of her children, Howard Rushing; her husband, Eugene Green; and one granddaughter, Kelly Ratliff.

Survivors include one sister, Shirley Parker, and her children, Cindy Butler Tarver, Howard Mitchell Rushing and wife, Patty, Kenneth Paul Rushing and wife, Charlene, and Sammy Keith Rushing and wife, Pam; 10 grandchildren, Chris Butler and wife, Chandra, Ramey Butler and wife, Jennifer, Henry Gentry Jr., Ryan Rushing and wife, Rachel, Ariel Evans and husband, Michael, Courtney Smith and husband, Howard, Hunter Rushing, Tyler Rushing, Morgan Rushing and Brooke Rushing; seven great-grandchildren, Irene Withers, Olivia Butler, Ethan Butler, Ayden Butler, Leon Evans, Delilah Evans and Quinn Evans; and a number of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
