GLOSTER — Services for Betty Ann Howard, 82, of Crosby, who died Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Mesun Hospice Home in Lawrenceville, Ga., were 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Gloster with the Rev. Bernard Waites officiating.
Burial followed at Rosetta Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.
Mrs. Howard was born March 23, 1935, in Rosetta, the daughter of Will and Nina Hazlip Sturdivant.
She was a graduate of Crosby High School and attended Hinds Junior College. On July 2, 1954, she married Marlin John Howard of Winnsboro, La. She was a housewife and secretary, retiring from Entergy Corporation in 1999.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Raymond and Maxwell Sturdivant; and three sisters, Thelma Sturdivant Johnson, and two who died in infancy.
Survivors include her husband; three children, Sabrina Howard Collins of Meridian, Marlin Dean Howard of North Ogden, Utah, and William Seth Howard of Dacula, Ga.; nine grandchildren, Briana Collins Nelson of Brandon, William E. “Will” Collins II of Youngsville, La., Elaine Howard Treutlein of Salt Lake City, Utah, Griffin Daniel Howard of Creve Coeur, Mo., Melanie Howard of Ogden, Utah, Seth Thomas Howard, Nathan John Howard and Lydia Anne Howard, all of Decula; seven great-grandchildren, Briley Claire and Jonah Michal Nelson, William Daniel “Liam” and Vivi Mae Collins, Luna Lynn, Ansel Edwards and Franklin Eugine Treutlein; one sister, Dorothy Sturdivant Cavin Thompson of Natchez; and one brother, William Russell “Billy” Sturdivant of Brookhaven.
