VIDALIA – Services for Betty Elizabeth Anderson Harris, 82, of Vidalia, who died June 1, 2017, at her residence, will be 11a.m. today at First Baptist Church of Vidalia with the Rev. Tony Ganey and the Rev. Wes Faulk of First Baptist Church Vidalia officiating.

Music will be provided by Junior Williams and Mitzi Roby.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mrs. Harris was born on Dec. 11, 1934, at home in McCall Creek, the daughter of Robert Lee Anderson and Ester Adams Anderson.  She was a resident of Vidalia for 62 years.

Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; one son, Jimmy Harris; one granddaughter, Vanessa Andrea Harris; one brother, Clark Anderson and his wife, Thelma; two sisters, Wanda Byrd and husband, Don, Juanita Hutcherson Lyles and husbands Horace Hutcherson and Jimmy Lyles; one sister-in-law, Faye Harris; two brothers-in-law, Robert “Bob” Nevels and Paul Harris and wife Terry; one niece, Beth Nevels Smith; and one nephew, Russell Byrd.

Survivors include her husband, Willie F. Harris Jr.;  one daughter, Brenda Greenlee and husband, Carl, of Vidalia; one son, Randy Harris and wife, Julia, of Morgan City, La.; six grandchildren, Alison Burkley, Whitney Porter, and Carla Greenlee of Vidalia; Jimmy and Caroline Harris of Morgan City, La., Brandy Boudreaux of Prairieville, La.; unofficial adopted sons, Rodney Burkley and Lewis “Son”  Blackwell; one brother, Bobby Anderson and wife, Lamarion, of Natchez; three sisters-in-law, Charlotte Lessing and husband, Ken, Bobbie Nevels , Betty Jo Smith and husband, Shelby, all of Brookhaven; and one brother-in-law, James Harris of Harrisville; and a  number of nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends.

Pallbearers will be Robert Anderson, Son Blackwell, Rodney Burkley, Don Byrd, Guy Dore and Wayne Harris.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Allen, Gene Anderson, Melvin Anderson, Paul Anderson,  Tony Ganey, Bruce Harris, Glenn Harris, Jimmy Harris, Billy Ray Mullins and Stanley Murray.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an organization of choice.
