VIDALIA — Memorial services for Cecil L. Davis, 59, who died Tuesday, June 6, 2017, in Ferriday, will be noon Tuesday at Young’s Funeral Home Vidalia chapel with the Rev. Russell Wagoner officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Davis was born Sept. 2, 1957, in Shreveport, La., the son of Vernon “Pedro” Davis and Lois Martin Davis.

He was a “happy-go-lucky” person who never complained and loved riding in the country with his dog. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and hanging out with his buddies.

He was employed by Southside Texaco in Natchez for 20 years.

Cecil was Methodist

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents, Elton and Edna Davis; and maternal grandparents, Alvin and Lilly Martin.

Survivors include two sons, Brandon Davis and wife, Kelly, of Biloxi, and Taylor Davis and wife, Morgan, of Fayetteville, Ark.; one daughter, Amanda Prichard and husband, Zack, of Madison; five grandchildren, Cameron, Anna, Emmi and Mia Davis and Nora Prichard; one sister, Carmen Bayse of Del Rio, Texas; and his caregiver and best friend, Kristi Guillory of Vidalia.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
