FERRIDAY — Services for Vernon M. “Bro” White Jr., of Ferriday, who died Monday, June 26, 2017, at his residence, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Crossbridge Church in Ferriday with the Rev. B.J. Smith and the Rev. Whitt Bass officiating.   

Burial will follow at Lone Pine Cemetery in Monterey under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home in Alexandria, La.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Mr. White had a passion for hunting and spending time with his family. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon White Sr. and Mary White; grandmothers, Lillian Clifford and Ruth Skipper; and one sister, Glenda White.

Survivors include his wife, Needra White; one daughter, Tonya Stamey and husband, Ricky, of Calhoun, La.; two sons, Vernon White III and wife, Rachel, of Vidalia and Morgan Charrier of Beaumont, Texas; three grandchildren, Kaylin, Phoebe and Hunter; two sisters, Janice Crochet and husband, Terry, of Ferriday and Gail Holomon of Lafollette, Tenn.; one brother, Eddie White of St. Joseph; and 13 nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Lee Crochet, Ben Crochet, Matthew Goodman, Keith Goodman, Creighton McCall, Taylor Kirby, John Reeves and Joseph Drummer.
