Natchez — Funeral services for Edward “Piggy” Washington, 71, of Natchez, who died on Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, in Natchez, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Curtis Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Friday with a “Celebration of Life” Wake Service at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Washington was born on May 1, 1946, in Natchez, the son of Charlie Washington Sr. and Queen Washington.

He was a high school graduate and worked as a landscaper.

He was a member of the Grove African Methodist Episcopal Church and regularly attended King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church. Edward enjoying talking with people, watching sports, western movies and shows and was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints.

Mr. Washington is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Berlin Bernard.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley P. Washington, of Natchez; two step-sons, Antoine Washington and wife, Timika, of Jackson, and Isom Cameron and wife, Sonya, of DeSota, Texas; step-daughter, Natalie Paul of Birmingham, Ala.; brother, Charlie Washington Jr.; mother-in-law, Carrie Washington and a number of other relatives and friends.
