NATCHEZ — Services for Marie L. Rice, 102, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Living Word Worship Center with the Rev. Eddie Alsworth officiating.     

Burial will follow at Milford Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Natchez chapel and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Rice was born July 31, 1915, in Adams County, the daughter of James and Florence Harris.

She was a member of Eastern Star-Edna Anderson, Chapter No. 11.

Mrs. Rice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charlie I. Rice; one daughter, Elvia Rice Smith; one granddaughter, Gwendolyn Rice; one grandson, Ardis Johnson; two sisters; and four brothers.

Survivors include one son, Charlie M. Rice and wife, Denise, of Madison; two daughters, Bertha Johnson and Doris Rice, both of Natchez; 17 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
