VIDALIA — Services for Charles Allen “Mr. C” Partridge, 81, of Vidalia, who died Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, at St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center in Alexandria, La., will be 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Joe Xavier officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. Partridge was born Aug. 21, 1936, in Natchez, the son of Willie Tennett Partridge and Allyne Eugenia Coley Partridge.
He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where he also taught the Communion Catechism class for a number of years. He served in the U.S. Marines. Mr. Partridge served on the Concordia Parish School Board from the mid 1970s to 1990s. He was retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company and the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office. He was also a founding member of the Vidalia Girls Softball League, where he volunteered for more than 20 years.
Mr. Partridge was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lynda Partridge; five brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Charlyn Partridge of Grand Haven, Mich.; one grandson, Brayden Partridge of Grand Haven; one sister, Willie May Guillory of Vidalia; a special niece and caregiver, Jo Gray-Greer of Vidalia; and number of nieces, nephews and godchildren.
