Generosity is Miss-Lou’s strength

Our area has many, many problems, to be sure. But one of our strengths is being shown in full force this week — our generosity.
Earlier this week, calls were made to residents to help donate to areas of Texas that have been impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
The response has been tremendous and it keeps building.
The Miss-Lou is at its best, it seems, when the chips are down and someone is in need.
Our community is so incredibly blessed to have dozens and dozens of people who are not only able, but gladly willing to drop what they’re doing and either head toward trouble to lend a hand or to help donate supplies, money or time to those in need.
That generosity is not as evident in every part of our country, but it warms our heart to see the myriad of people from our community that give freely to people to complete strangers, miles from home.
They do it because it’s the right thing to do.
They do it because they follow the Golden Rule.
And they do it because they know our community could be the one in need.
God bless the people of Texas and Louisiana dealing with flooding and hurricane damage, but also God bless the countless people who are donating to their aid.
