For the third time this season, Adams County Christian School is hitting the road to put their skills to the test. And this time, the Rebels will be facing a familiar foe.

ACCS (3-1) is slated to travel to former district rival Columbia at 7 p.m. Friday.

“From what I can gather, this is the best Columbia team they’ve fielded in many years,” ACCS coach David King said. “They have an outstanding coaching staff and playmakers everywhere.”

The Cougars (2-2) have scored at least 42 points in each of their past two matchups, and King said CA’s offense could pose some problems.

“They’re a high-powered offense, and very quick defense. This is a big challenge for us on the road,” King said.

ACCS, meanwhile, enters Friday with just one blemish on its résumé, a 38-7 setback to Presbyterian Christian two weeks ago. The Rebels rolled past WCCA last week, 49-8.

“We just had a terrible second half against Presbyterian Christian,” King said. “We made a couple of blunders that just cost us any chance of winning that game. The other games we’ve done what we’ve done in the past and suffocating people on defense and making some big plays on offense. But this is a team that can match us talent wise, and they’re huge up front on the offensive line.”
