Vidalia Vikings defeat General Trass Panthers in 41-28 district contest

Cam’Ron Randall had three rushing touchdowns and a interception return for a touchdown as the Vidalia Vikings defeated the General Trass Panthers 41-28 in an LHSAA District 2-2A game Friday night.

Randall had 10 carries for 83 yards as well as two catches for 30 yards. Tristan Weatherly completed 10 of 14 passes for 160 yards and one touchdown to go with one touchdown run. Devin Green led Vidalia’s rushing attack with 176 yards on 17 carries while DeMikal McCoy had four catches for 82 yards and one touchdown.

General Trass (3-3, 0-2) led 8-0 at the end of the first quarter before Vidalia scored 21 straight points in the second quarter. However, the Panthers responded with a touchdown and two-point conversion at the end of the first half to trail just 21-16.

The two teams traded touchdowns in a wild third quarter. The Vikings ended up scoring 20 points to 12 points for the Panthers.

Weatherly was sacked six times by General Trass’s defense, but the Vikings turned the ball over just one time.

Vidalia (5-1, 2-1) plays at Ferriday next Friday at 7 p.m. in a key district game for both teams.
