NATCHEZ — Services for Alberta Ivory, 84, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Pry Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Lonnie Culbert officiating.
Burial will follow at Egypt Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home’s Natchez chapel and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Ms. Ivory was born April 26, 1933, in Natchez, the daughter of Jim Ivory and Laura Frazier Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Albert Ivory Green; and one brother, James “Trickey” McKinley Ivory of New Orleans.
Survivors include one daughter, Ernestine Johnson; two sons, George Ivory and wife, Donna, and Elvin Ivory and wife, Florida, all of Natchez; two brothers, John T. Jones of Riverdale, Ill., and Danny D. Ivory of Lulling, La.; one sister, Shelia Ivory of LaPlace, La.; seven grandchildren, Dexter Johnson and Elvin Ray Ivory Jr., both of Natchez, Michele Morris and husband, Carl, of Kenwood, La., Danielle Johnson of Minneapolis, Minn., Winnifred Curtis of Houston, Carlisha Curtis of Baton Rouge and Katie Ivory of Crystal Springs; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a special cousin, Mary Lee Toles of Natchez.
