FERRIDAY — Services for Frank “Scott” Taylor, 76, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday with Jeff McClure and the Rev. Bryan Taylor officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Taylor was born March 18, 1941, in Ferriday, the son of John Marvin Taylor Sr. and Frankie Scott Taylor.
He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fishing and hunting. He was employed by Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company as a supervisor for 24 years. He farmed most of his life.
Scott loved spending time with family and friends, but his pride and joy were his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Betty Taylor; two sons, Neil Stewart Taylor of Monroe, La., and Brad Scott Taylor and wife, Scottye, of Natchez; three granddaughters, Courtney Taylor Shilling and husband, Ryan, Morgan McKaye Taylor and Haley Brooke Taylor; one grandson, Lee Scott Taylor; two great-grandsons, Bradley Shilling and Mason Shilling; two nephews, Michael Taylor and wife, Jennifer, and Jeffery Taylor and wife, Susan; two nieces, Jill Oie and husband, Rick, and Julie Shirley Tiegs and husband, Miles; and one sister-in-law, Margaret Shirley.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery Taylor, Chris Cothern, Lee Scott Taylor, Brian Allred, Glen Cooper and Travis Leggett.
