WOODVILLE – Services for Cleola Davis “Nue” Bruce, 81, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Meadville, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Embrew Baptist Church in Woodville with the Rev. Louis Selmon officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the Natchez chapel and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Bruce was born Oct. 8, 1936, in Woodville, the daughter of Grant Davis and Louvenia Miles.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alex Bruce Sr.; three sisters, Julia Walker, Martha Walker and Dora May Netterville; two brothers, Kennedy Walker and Joe Lewis; and one granddaughter, Katrica Montgomery.

Survivors include four daughters, Mandy Simmons of Westwego, La., Brenda Montgomery, Vera Davis and Erma Davis, all of Natchez; three sons, Jessie Davis, John Davis and Alex Bruce Jr., all of Natchez; one stepdaughter, Bobbie Blakes; two sisters, Lorraine Credit and Queen Turner and husband, Paul; three brothers, Jimmie Walker, Roosevelt Walker and wife, Sophia, and Jones Walker and wife, Aline; one sister-in-law, Mandy Noble; two brothers-in-law, Roosevelt Bruce and wife, Mary, and William Bruce and wife, Georgia; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four special friends, Susan Davis, Dianne Townsend, Crystal Primm and Calenar Wilson; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
