HAVELOCK, N.C. — Graveside services for James H. “Jim” Beasley, 71, a longtime resident of Havelock, N.C., who died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, were 2 p.m. Friday at Forrest Oaks Memorial Gardens in Havelock.

Mr. Beasley was born Sept. 13, 1946, the son of James R. Beasley and Charlotte Nicholson.

Jim was a master carpenter, a marine, and a licensed optician in the Havelock/Cherry Point area for more than 46 years.

He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Juanita Beasley; two brothers, Byford Beasley and Elvis Nicholson; and one sister, Sharon Blake.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Susie Butler Beasley; one son, Jimbo Beasley and wife, Sherry, of Commerce Township, Mich.; one daughter, Mary Beth Beasley of Havelock; two granddaughters, (his baby dolls) Sarah and Allison Beasley; four brothers, Ronnie Beasley of Natchez, Troy, Claude and Tony Nicholson of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, “Sissy” Koonce of Alexandria, La.; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends he and Susie mentored to and loved throughout the years.
