VIDALIA — Memorial services for Marie Goss Marks, 75, of Vidalia, who died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, will be noon Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017, at the First Presbyterian Church of Vidalia with the Rev. Clyde Ray Webber officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia.

Mrs. Marks was born April 2, 1942, in Natchez, the daughter of Willie A. Goss and Helen Elizabeth Watson Goss.

She was a graduate of Vidalia High School and she was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Ferriday.

Marie was the owner and operator of The Hairstylist Salon in Vidalia and former clothing stores in Vidalia and the Natchez Mall, The Marksman.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Willie Goss Jr., Donald Goss and Robert “Bobby” Goss.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Freddy Marks; one son, Chad Marks and wife, Aimee, of Houston; two grandchildren, Colton Marks and Savannah Marks, both of Houston; two brothers, Jack Goss and LeRoy Goss and wife, Barbara, all of Natchez; a number of nieces, nephews; and her special friends, Danny and Debbie, Molly Cooper, Shirley Smith, Leah Hudspeth and Bobby Nell Taylor.

The family extends special thanks to the staff of Camellia Hospice and her special caregivers, Penny, Erica, Grace and Angela for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38205.
