NATCHEZ — Three local Catholic organizations are participating in a one-day online event to raise money for Catholic parishes, schools and ministries.

Organized by the Archdiocese of New Orleans in 2015, #iGiveCatholic enters its third year of fundraising. In 2015, the crowdfunding campaign raised $1.36 million in 24-hours for the ministries of the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

This year Cathedral School, Holy Family Catholic Church and Holy Family Early Learning Center join the effort as part of the Diocese of Jackson, one of 17 other dioceses and archdioceses in the United States that have joined the 24-hour online campaign, which started at midnight and will last until 11:59 p.m today.

#iGiveCatholic aims to raise $3.5 million to support the more than 600 schools, parishes and other organizations that are participating.
