FERRIDAY — Services for Gladys Ann Knight Briggs, 79, of Clayton, who died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017, at her residence, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Young’s Funeral Home Ferriday Chapel.

Burial will follow at Oakley Cemetery in Wisner, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Knight was born June 28, 1938, in Eudora, Ark., the daughter of Garland Albert Knight and Aby Nesmith Knight.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Joseph Lynn Briggs; four brothers; and five sisters.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Preston Briggs; three daughters, Debbie DeLaune, Rhonda Yearick and husband, Mike, and Mary Allen; one son, Preston A. Briggs; five grandchildren, Lt. J. Striker Brown and wife, Kara, Abi Brown, Levi Brown, Ashleigh Dyann Burns and Lakota Lynn Burns; one great-granddaughter, Sydni Autumn Goad; three sisters, Sarah Jane Jones, Wilma Jean Cooper and Hattie Bryan; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be James Keith Burns, Lt. J. Striker Brown, Mike Yearick, Levi Brown and William Seyfarth.
