NATCHEZ — Services for Clara Maxine Woods Ashley,78, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at Franklin County Memorial Hospital in Meadville, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Speed officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ashley was born Feb. 16, 1939, in Woodville, the daughter of William B. Woods Sr. and Minnie Mae Tyson Woods. She was a homemaker and a member of Kingston United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Bessie O. Wesberry Wheeler Woods; two brothers; two sisters; six stepbrothers; and two stepsisters.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Robert J. Ashley; one daughter, Wanda Renee Ashley Thompson and husband, Horace Levell; one son, Dale Ashley and wife Debbie Nell; one sister-in-law, Pearl Gail Ashley; one brother, William B. Woods Jr. and wife, Faye; one sister, Minnie Lee Sanford; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Cage Norris, T.J. Caldwell, Jimmy Delaney, Will Delaney, A.J. Johnson and Randy Cowart.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Havard, Jimmy Thomas, Leonard McManus and Charles Eidt.
