NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Ronald Lee “Ronnie” Havard, 55, formerly of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Nov. 28,2017, in Charlotte, N.C., will be noon Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Richardson officiating.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Havard was born March 21, 1962, in Natchez, the son of Ottis G. Havard Sr. and Dorris Marie Southern Havard.

Ronnie Havard was raised in Natchez. He grew up in Forsythe Subdivision and attended Morgantown Baptist Church. Ronnie was a 1980 graduate of Adams County Christian School. He grew up in Adams County hunting, fishing and enjoying life. After graduation, Ronnie attended Jackson Barber College and became a popular hair stylist in the Natchez area. He later went through a variety of trades from working in the oil field to bartending at the Cellar to carpentry and getting his general contractor’s license. For the last few years, Ronnie had been living and working in Atlanta. Ronnie loved to listen to good music and loved to play his numerous guitars. He also loved climbing on his Harley on a sunny afternoon and taking a ride with his love, Michele.

His quick smile and infectious laugh will be sorely missed by family and friends alike. Godspeed Ronnie, until we meet again, Godspeed.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorris Marie Southern Havard; paternal grandparents, Edward Lee Havard Sr. and Addie Reeves Havard; and maternal grandparents, Chester Lee Southern and Ruby Fortenberry Southern.

Survivors include his father and wife, Martha Thompson Havard, of Lake St. John; one brother, Guy Havard of Natchez; two nephews, Adam C. Havard of Oxford and Jeremy M. Havard of Long Beach; girlfriend, Michele McCulloch of Atlanta; and a number cousins, in-laws and out-laws.
