NATCHEZ — Services for Thelma Henry Latham, 86, of Natchez, who died Monday, Dec. 4, 2107, at Merit Health Natchez, will be noon Saturday at Milford Baptist Church with the Rev. John Scott officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 5:30 p.m. today at the funeral home with an Eastern Star ceremony at 6 p.m. A celebration of life wake service will follow at 7:30 p.m.

Visitation will continue Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mrs. Latham was born Jan. 31, 1931, in Natchez, the daughter of Clarence Henry and Evelyn Henry.

She received a bachelor of science degree from Alcorn State University. She was the owner and operator of Latham’s Flower Shop. She was retired from the U.S. Extension Service as an extension service analyst.

Mrs. Latham was a member of Milford Baptist Church where served as a deaconess and a member of the missionary society, Sunday school and Willing Workers. She was also affiliated with the BTU. She served as past director of the Women’s Auxiliary of the AMB Association, PSGM of Supreme Grand Chapter of O.E. S. and had memberships with Natchez Business and Civic League, Mississippi State Nursing Board, Council on Aging, Edna Anderson O.E. S. Chapter, Adah Grand Chapter O.E.S., NAACP, L.E. Spencer Administration Council, Pinkie Jackson Amaranth, Alkoran Crt. No. 1 Daughters of Sphinx, Heroines of Jericho, MPPFB Society and L.F.C. Society.

Mrs. Latham enjoyed cooking, reading, floral designs and watching game shows.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Latham Sr.; her parents; one son, Robert Latham Jr.; and two daughters, Alice Latham and Sharon Latham.

Survivors include two daughters, Permelia L. Murphy and Velma Latham-Jacques; one brother, Earl Henry Sr.; one sister, Evelyn Smith; two granddaughters, Viveca L. Johnnson and Kristen Howard; and other relatives and friends.
