NATCHEZ — Services for John Daniel Nix, 79, who died Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at his residence, are today at 10 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Bro. RAJ officiating. Burial will follow at the cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be today at 9 a.m. to service time at the cemetery.

Mr. Nix was born on July 12, 1938, the son of Rev. John Ervin Nix and Verlon Beech Nix. He was a lifetime fan of the University of Mississippi and Ole Miss Rebel football.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother in law, Glenn Blackwell.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Audrey Ruth Cobb Nix; three children: Teri Nix Halsted, Jayson Nix and his wife, Karen Martin Nix, and Amy Nix Murray; two sisters, Nell Blackwell and Jane Parker and her husband, Larry; seven grandchildren: Ashley and her husband Robert Rainwater, Emily Murray and her boyfriend Hayden Newman, James L. Murray and their father James L. Murray, Richard Halsted, Stephanie Halsted, Laura Kate Nix and her boyfriend, Dylan Sandidge, and John Parker Nix; one great-grandchild, Emory Collins Fuller; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Robert Rainwater, James Murray, Hayden Newman, John Parker Nix, Dylan Sandidge, Jimmy Murray and Ronnie Blackwell.
