NATCHEZ — Services for Gerald Rzeczkowski, 71, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, will be 6:30 p.m. today at George F. West Sr. Memorial Chapel at West Gate Funeral Home.   

Family hour/visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Mr. Rzeczkowski was born Nov. 6, 1946, in Natrona Heights, Pa., the son of Eugene Rzeczkowski and Alice Rzeczkowski.

He was a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He was a BASF research specialist in Vidalia. He was also a specialist in the U.S. Army and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Gerald enjoyed playing golf and was an avid fan of all the Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Steelers and Penguins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include one son, Adam Rzeczkowski and wife, Naomi; one daughter, Erin Rzeczkowski; one brother, Eugene Rzeczkowski; two nieces, Taylor and Morgan Rzeczkowski; one great-niece, Ariana Hernandez; one great-nephew, Julian Bowman; and other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to cancer research at St. Jude Children Hospital or to the American Cancer Society.
