NATCHEZ — Services for Artie Missie Fife Holland, 87, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, at Merit Health Central in Jackson, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dan Ratcliff and the Rev. Bill Barksdale officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Holland was born Aug. 19, 1930, the daughter of Henry C. Fife Sr. and Nannie Mae Marlin Fife.
She lived all her life in Adams County and graduated from Washington High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church since she was a teenager and loved singing in the choir for many years. She was a deacon’s wife. She served on a number of committees and was an active member of the W. M. U. She was a wonderful cook and loved sharing with others, especially her banana pudding. She loved quilting and shared many of her beautiful quilts. A special thanks to her quilting, domino, Bunco, and Cootie Club members. She treasured her devotional time with God each day and was blessed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a devoted husband, Frank Arliss Holland Sr.; three brothers, Billy Fife, Frank Lee Fife and Henry C. Fife Jr.; and three sisters, Nan West, Ophelia Jackson and Nell Murphy.
Survivors include two sons, Frank Arliss Holland Jr. and wife, Phyllis, and Johnny Daryl Holland and wife, Carla, all of Natchez; one grandson, Frank Arliss “Trey” Holland III and wife, Becky; three granddaughters, Sara Beth Spillers and husband, Luke, Joanna Holland and Erica Holland; nine great-grandchildren, Kyle Holland, Aidan Spillers, John Riley Spillers, Bailey Shannon, Rowan Shannon, Harper Smith, Jaxen Eggebrecht, Brennan Smith and Kameron Smith; two sisters, Kitty Booker and Margaret Martin; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gerald West, Bonnie and Lloyd Byrd, Brenda and Darrius Williams, Ruth Holland and Opal and Luther Messer; and a number of special nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Trey Holland, Luke Spillers, David Pitchford, Casey Hebert, Charles Stephens and Glen Harrison.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
