VIDALIA — Memorial services for William Ronald “Ronny” Dawson, 52, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Joe Xavier officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Ronny was a very kind and generous person who cared deeply for everyone he came close to.  He looked after and paid special attention to people in need.  He loved helping people and will be remembered for his big heart and willingness to be there when he was needed.

Ronny had a deep connection to his family, especially to his parents who preceded him in death.  He was a huge part of making his parents last years of life a quality and happy experiences.  He took exceptional care of his mother during her long battle with Alzheimer’s.  His mother’s favorite pastime was taking long country rides, and he made sure to take her on her daily rides.  To be witness to this type of dedication was inspirational.

He had a great love for his dogs. You never saw this 6-foot, 4-inch man without his small little dogs following after him.  To see this sight gave many people a good chuckle.  He leaves behind his two little dogs, Ruby and Scrappy, and will be well taken care of by his two sisters, Linda Dawson and Beverly Dawson.

Ronny will be remembered for a number of things. His family and friends will remember him for the magnificent ability to put together an amazing fireworks display, his ability to care so strongly for people, his contagious laugh, the delicious meals he prepared, his ability to fix the unfixable and lastly his huge heart.

Ronny had amazing adventures throughout his lifetime. The man he was will leave an un-fillable place in our hearts.  The joy we shared in our life with him is what will keep us going in the years to come.

Ronny also leaves behind three sisters, Susan Windham and her family, Debby Celestino and her family and Pam Kincke and her family.  Ronny is now in heaven with his dad, John Arthur Dawson, his mother, Geraldine Dawson and his two brothers, Tim and Danny Dawson.

The next time you see fireworks in the sky think of Ronny and smile.
