NATCHEZ —Memorial services for Brian David Burgess, 69, of Natchez, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, at Merit Health Natchez, will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Burgess was born May 26, 1948, the son of J.C. Burgess Jr. and Thanette Brown Burgess.

He was a retired lineman and electrician with Mississippi Power and Light and a number of independent contractors. He was a former member of the U.S. Army Reserves.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, J.C. Burgess III and Lee Burgess. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Brenda S. Burgess; one son, Brian Blaine Burgess and wife, Medora; one daughter, Michelle Burgess Kaiser and husband Hayden Kaiser III; six grandchildren, Brian, Braxton and Bronson Burgess and Caroline, Chase and Matthew Kaiser; one brother, Tom Burgess and wife, Marie; two nephews, Tom Burgess Jr. and wife, Brittany, and Adam Burgess and wife, Brittany; one great-niece, Sophie Burgess; two great-nephews, Ben and Jimmy Burgess; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Burgess was a registered tissue donor and requested cremation at his death. The memorial services will be at his dream home, “The Camp,” which he built.
