Trinity girls, boys win in final home basketball games

The Trinity Episcopal Saints played their final ever home game  Tuesday night at Clyde Adams Gymnasium and gave their fans something to remember — a win for both the girls and boys teams.

Kris Genous led the varsity boys as five players ended in double figures. Genous had 16 points as the Saints rolled to a 78-19 over the Discovery Christian School Lions to stay undefeated in MAIS District 4-A.

The Saints dominated Discovery Christian on both ends of the court in the first quarter en route to a 24-0 advantage. The Lions finally got on the scoreboard in the second quarter, but Trinity would take a 44-11 lead into halftime.

Cedric Daniels and Dee Fleming had 15 points each, while Jakarius Caston and DeSanto Rollins added 10 points apiece for the Saints.

The Lady Saints pulled away in the second half to defeat the Discovery Christian School Lady Lions, 30-17.

Trinity Episcopal led Discovery Christian 7-5 at the end of the first quarter and 8-7 at halftime. The Lady Saints then took over, outscoring the Lady Lions 10-3 in the third quarter and 12-7 in the fourth quarter.

Cate Drane led the Lady Saints with a game-high 11 points and Lily Drane contributed with seven points.

Trinity has four remaining games this season — all on the road — beginning at Rebul Academy on Saturday.
