NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Jewel R. “Dick” Dollar, 77, of Natchez who died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 6 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Mr. Dollar was born Sept. 19, 1940, in Winnsboro, La., the son of Lester Woodrow Dollar and Lillie Mae Thompson Dollar. He was raised in Natchez and was a graduate of Washington High School. He attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson on a football scholarship.

Dick was a gifted high school athlete in all sports and continued playing fast pitch softball and basketball in the Natchez City Leagues. He began work at Premo Stallone Inc., in 1961 and worked his way up the ranks from helper in the HVAC department to general manager until he had to retire due to health conditions in 2009. He and his wife, Cynthia, were married for more than 56 years and enjoyed raising their family together. Mr. Dollar was very active at Cathedral School. He was a very proud and devoted father and grandfather. He attended all of his children’s athletic and dancing activities.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Premo Stallone Jr.; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Thompson; one niece, Donna Evans; and one nephew, Kenny Dollar.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Stallone Dollar; three daughters, Denise Dollar and partner, Nikki Ball, of Seattle, Wash., Natalie Dollar and husband, Dan Becraft, of Bend, Ore., and Paige Iseminger and husband, Barry, of Natchez; one granddaughter, Fisher Iseminger of Natchez; one niece, Amy Peters and husband, Ryan, of Gluckstadt; nephews, Woody Dollar Jr. and wife, Linda, of Orange, Texas, Robbie Dollar Jr. and wife, Morgan, of Natchez, Adrian Stallone Jr. and wife, Jamie, of St. Francisville, La., Jody Stallone and wife, Caitlyn, of Metairie, La., Yancey and Wacey Cody of Texas, and Stallone Jones of Texas; one sister, Linda Cavin and husband, Pat, of Natchez; one brother, Woody Dollar Sr. of Natchez; former sister-in-law, Bobbye Dollar of Natchez; brother-in-law, Adrian Stallone and wife, Gail, of Natchez; and sister-in-law, Janet Cody and husband, Butch, of San Angelo, Texas.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, Cathedral School of Natchez or to a charity of choice.
