NATCHEZ — Services for William Perry Ferguson, 82, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at Rapides Medical Center, will be 2 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with William “Tuc” Tucker officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird funeral Home.

Visitation will be noon until service time today at the funeral home.

Mr. Ferguson was born Dec. 17, 1935, in Philadelphia, the son of William Thurman Ferguson and Inez Alford Ferguson.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict as a special orders clerk and received an honorable discharge. Mr. Ferguson also proudly upheld the position of maintenance supervisor at International Paper Company in Natchez for 34 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Norma Russell Ferguson; and one brother, Gary Samuel Ferguson.

Survivors include one son, Clayton P. Ferguson and wife, Love Lee, of Natchez; one grandson, Landon Russell Ferguson of Natchez; two sisters, Pauline Birkelback and husband, John, of Rush, Texas, and Ann Stokes of Liberty; and one brother, Vestal Ferguson and wife, Gayle, of Wisner, La.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Stokes, Sheeli Stokes, Stevie Stokes, Hunter Nations, Beau Melton and Boyd Melton.
