NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Carolene Britt, 74, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, at Adams County Nursing Center, will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Ms. Britt was born Aug. 16, 1943, in Lincoln County, the daughter of Hollis and Emma Marie Stewart Britt. She was a registered nurse and drug and alcohol abuse counselor. Ms. Britt was known for her strong but gentle personality, and she loved animals.

Ms. Britt was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include one sister, Sandra Britt Smith and husband, Donald, of Natchez; one niece, Natalie Smith and husband, Chris, of Hernando; two nephews, Andrew Smith and wife, Carrie, of Gainesville, Fla., and Douglas Smith and wife, Haley, of Gonzales, La.; four great-nieces, Grace, Emma, Ava and Lahna; three great-nephews, Jacob, Landon and Lawson; two special cousins, Griff Toney and Phyllis Toney; and a number of other relatives and friends.
