On Tuesday, a few local and area high school baseball and softball games had changes as a result of the most recent cold front that moved through the Miss-Lou region between late Monday afternoon and into the early morning.
Vidalia High School’s junior varsity and varsity baseball games against Franklin Parish High School that were scheduled for Tuesday afternoon were canceled. However, Vikings head coach Mike Norris said that today’s JV and varsity home games against West Feliciana (La.) High School will still take place. The JV game starts at 4 p.m. with the varsity game to follow at 6 p.m.
Block High School’s LHSAA District 3-1A opener at home against St. Mary’s High School was postponed due to the inclement weather. The varsity-only game will now take place at 4 p.m. next Monday.
Delta Charter School was scheduled to host Avoyelles Public Charter School for a JV and varsity tilt, but because of unplayable field conditions the game took at Avoyelles Public Charter in Mansura, La. with a varsity-only game at 5 p.m.
Delta Charter’s softball teams were scheduled to play at University Academy of Central Louisiana in Alexandria, La., but those games were canceled due to UA-CENLA not having enough eligible players to field a team, coach Jeannie Beach said.
Beach said the varsity team will play at Holy Savior Menard High School, which is also in Alexandria, at 5 p.m. today.
