MONROE — Funeral Services for Berly Gray, 85, of West Monroe, formerly of Concordia Parish who passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018 in West Monroe, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will begin at noon on Thursday at the funeral home.
Gray was born on March 31, 1932, the daughter of Albert Burlon Burkhalter and Louvenia Walters Burkhalter. She was a homemaker, artist, and fabulous cook. She was a member of Sertoma Club and Auburn Garden Club. Berly was a strong woman and a fighter. She was a real “Steel Magnolia”.
She was preceded in death her parents; husband, Willis Leroy Gray; son, Richard B. Gray; son-in-law, Joe Amaden; three grandchildren, Richard B. Gray, Jr., Paige Gray, and Brian Amaden; two sisters, Hazel Burkhalter, Sybil Thornhill; five brothers, A. B. Burkhalter, Bo Burkhalter, Garland Burkhalter, Pete Burhalter, Laverne Burkhalter
She is survived by her one daughter, Carolyn Amaden; one grandson, Heath Amaden wife wife Tiffany; one great granddaughter, Charlotte Amaden, all of Flowood, Miss.; and one sister, Earlie Guttirrez of Central, La.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Ms. Berly’s Landmark Nursing Center family for all of their love and care for many years.
