NATCHEZ — Services for Edwidge Marie Mead, 92, of Natchez, who died Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Camelot Leisure Living in Ferriday, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor, the Rev. Joe Xavier and the Rev. Paul Kunnumpurram officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
Mrs. Mead was born April 28, 1925, in New Orleans, and was a longtime resident of Natchez.
She was a retired assistant secretary to the president of Delta Steamship Lines Inc. Ed was a dedicated sister, wife, aunt and great-aunt. She was a member of St. Mary Basilica and she spent a number of years serving the poor and elderly. Ed was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Pilgrimage Garden Club and a number of other civic organizations.
Mrs. Mead was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert W. Mead Sr.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Sadie Stockton; four nieces, Deborah Farrell, Robin Hirshfeld, Sandra Kokesh and Nadine Stockton; and five great-nieces, Kassie Fowler, Allie Kokesh, Ashley Kokesh, Heather Sherman and Taryn Stine.
