Troops from 155th say goodbye to loved ones Tuesday morning

NATCHEZ — Troops from the 155th Armored Brigade Combat Team left the Natchez National Guard Armory Tuesday headed for training at Fort Bliss, Texas, before heading overseas. The soldiers are expected to be away from Natchez for approximately a year.
The guard is supposed to deter and react to threats in the Middle East. This is the third deployment to the Middle East since 2001.
Natchez Mayor Darryl Grennell paid tribute to the troops assembled at the armory on Liberty Road, thanked them for their sacrifice and service.
Headquartered in Tupelo, the brigade has units in Natchez, McComb, Senatobia, Starkville, Amory, Monticello, Meridian and other locations in the state.
