NATCHEZ — Services for Katherine Johnson Scott, 89, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, April 4, 2018, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Richard Balcom officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Rajesh Behara officiating under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Scott was born March 9,1929, in Pontotoc, the daughter of Richard and Lena Mae Johnson.
She married the love of her life, Jack Scott, on Dec. 28, 1953. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Scott retired from South Central Bell Telephone as an operator and an assignment clerk. She was a longtime member of Telephone Pioneers and Parkway Baptist Church.
She enjoyed reading, playing bingo, spending time with family and traveling with her husband throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada in their motorhome. As members of the Good Sam Club, they enjoyed many campouts with friends.
Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Francis Adair; and two brothers-in-law, Doc Freeman and Bill Adair.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Jack Scott; two sons, Ronnie Scott and wife, Mary Sue, of Aubrey, Texas and Mike Scott and wife, Sue, of Poplarville; two daughters, Kathy Pollard and husband, Bill, of Natchez, and Kim Bachman and husband, Danny, of Savannah, Ga.; 10 grandchildren, Will Pollard and wife, Carrie, of Flowood, Katie Neely and husband, Preston, of Richardson, Texas, Trevor Scott and fiancée, Delonna, of New Orleans, Kristen Hunter and husband, Matt, of Cumming, Ga., Scott Pollard and wife, Emily, of Brookhaven, Keely Scott of Slidell, La., Kara Barham and husband, Josh, of Hattiesburg, Gus Bachman, Cooper Bachman and Chet Bachman, all of Savannah; six great- grandchildren, Kristen Pollard, Kensleigh Pollard, Jack Pollard, Levi Hunter, William Pollard and Henley Neely; one sister, Nancy Freeman; one brother, Thomas Johnson, both of Pontotoc; and brother-in-law, Joe Scott and wife, Betty, of Tupelo.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Will Pollard, Trevor Scott, Scott Pollard, Gus Bachman, Cooper Bachman and Chet Bachman.
