NATCHEZ — Services for Duey Herman Walter, 79, of Natchez, who died Sunday, April 8, 2018, at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Cliff Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Russell Wagoner officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Mr. Walter was born July 6, 1938, in Delhi, La., the son of Paul Herman Walter and Walter Mae Newton Walter. He was a member of Cliff Temple Baptist Church. Mr. Walter was a veteran, having served four years in the U.S. Navy. He was a volunteer fireman for the Kingston Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lola Cupit Walter; a twin brother, Huey Pout Walter; one sister, Dorothy Hartzog; and 11 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Watson and Lori Walter; one son, John P. Walter; one grandson, Ryan Woolfolt; three grandsons, John Michael Walter, Brooklyn Walter and Trenton Walter.

Pallbearers will be Pete Cupit, A.J. Jackson, Doodle Smith and C.J. Cupit.
