FERRIDAY — Services for Roy B. Jester, 82, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at his residence, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Young’s Funeral Home Ferriday Chapel with the Rev. Russell Wagoner officiating.

Burial will follow at South Central Cemetery in Wisner, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Jester was born Nov. 7, 1935, in Gilbert, La., the son of William Mays Jester and Sarah Messenger Jester.

He retired after 34 years with International Paper Company.

Mr. Jester was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Doug Jester, Mayo Jester and Leo Jester; and one sister, Anna Driggers.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey Howington Jester; two daughters, Linda Collier and husband, Robert, and Susan Jester; two stepsons, Kenneth Calvitt and wife, Angie, all of Natchez, and Jerry Calvitt and wife, Kelly, of Lexington, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Cameron, Jessica, Cade, Kimberly, Tiffany, Daniell, Kent, Darylynn and Brian; 15 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Robert Collier, Cameron Collier, Cade Farmer, Kenneth Calvitt, Jerry Calvitt and Kent Calvitt.
