SIBLEY, La. — The Vidalia High School Lady Vikings came up just short of pulling off a huge upset of Lakeside High School as the Lady Warriors held on for a 2-1 win Monday afternoon in the first round of the LHSAA Class 2A Softball State Playoffs.

Lakeside, the No. 8 seed, scored two unearned runs on what was Vidalia’s only error of the game, a walk and three base hits in the bottom of the fourth inning to break a scoreless ball game.
