NATCHEZ — Services for Agnes Leona Steele, 95, who died Friday, May 4, 2018, in Sumrall, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Doug Broome officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Steele was born Sept. 28, 1922, in Itawamba County, the daughter of Clopton Wallace and Margaret Ella Wallis Wallace.
She dedicated her life to the Lord and her children. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Natchez for 53 years. She was an example of love and cared for everyone that knew her. Always welcoming anyone to stay with her — she was the best cook. You were never hungry if she was around. She said that the two things she wanted in life was to be a good wife and mother. She was the best mother anyone could have. She will be remembered for the love that she gave to everyone and everyone loved her.
Mrs. Steele was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Cleveland Steele; and eight siblings.
Survivors include her two loving daughters, Margaret Jan Steele Howard and husband, William, and Patsy Steele White and husband, Donnie; 11 grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a large number of nieces and nephews; and a special nephew, Larry Wallace and wife, Kaye.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
