Time for summer camps, Bible schools in the Miss-Lou

NATCHEZ — School is out for summer, but plenty of ways exist for children to have fun, stay fit and keep the mind busy in Natchez.
Co-Lin Kids College
Copiah-Lincoln Community College is hosting classes with a variety of hands-on activities and games for different age groups.
Art classes are scheduled from June 18 to 21 for grades 1-2 and July 16 to 19 for grades 3-5. The registration fee is $55.
Young Outdoor Adventurers is scheduled from June 18 to 21 for grades 3-5. The registration fee is $50.
Cooking it Up in the Kitchen is scheduled from June 18 to 21 for grades 3-5 and is scheduled from June 25 to 28 for grades 1-2. The registration fee is $60.
3D Art Making is scheduled from June 25 to 28 for grades 3-5 and July 23 to 26 for grades 1-2. The registration fee is $55.
Kids Yoga & Fitness is scheduled from June 25 to 28 and July 23 to 26 for grades 2-5. The registration fee is $50.
Tennis is scheduled from June 25 to 28 for grades 3-5. The registration fee is $65.
Science classes are scheduled July 16 to 19 for grades 1-2 and July 23 to 26 for grades 3-5. The registration fee is $55.
Fun with Numbers is scheduled from July 16 to 19 for grades 3-5. The registration fee is $50.
Farm to Table for Kids is scheduled from July 16 to 19 for grades 1-2 and July 23 to 26 for grades 3-5. The registration fee is $50.
All classes are 9 a.m. to noon at Co-Lin on the indicated dates, except for the tennis class, which will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Duncan Park.
Supplies and a snack are included with all registration fees, which should be submitted at least a week before the activities start. Students must complete the indicated grades to participate in each of the classes.

Children’s Prep Music Studio
Kathleen Mackey King will host a summer music camp from June 18-22 on the second floor of the Natchez Senior Center located on 800 Washington St.
Classes for ages 3 to 4 will be from 4:15 to 5 p.m. and classes for ages 5 to 7 will be from 3:15 to 4 p.m. The cost is $75 per child.

Grand Village of the Natchez Indians
The Grand Village of the Natchez Indians will host the following camps this summer:
Little Discovery Week Crafts & Contests will be hosted 9 a.m. to noon on Monday through Friday, July 16–20, for ages 5 to 7. Attending children can learn about historic Natchez Native American life and culture through crafts, projects and activities that include pottery, mask making, a mound building relay and meeting animals native to the area. The cost is $25 per child.
Discovery Week: Time Travel Challenge will be hosted 9 a.m. to noon on Monday through Friday, July 9–13, for ages 8 to 10. Children will learn archery, stickball, basketry, fire building and other skills, crafts and games used by the Natchez Indians and French colonists in the 1700s. The cost is $50 per child.

Natchez Art Association
Loraine C. Griffin will be directing the 2018 Summer Art Camp at the Art Center at 452 Jefferson St. for ages 6 to 14.
Session times are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 4-7, June 11-14, June 18-21, June 25-28, July 9-12, July 16-19 and July 23-26. Sessions are $120 paid in advance with a $25 discount for Natchez Art Association members and their siblings.

Satya Yoga Wellness Center
Satya Yoga Wellness Center on Main Street is hosting a teen summer yoga camp directed by Stephanie Daly.
The camp will be 10 a.m. to 11:15 on July 16-20 for ages 12 to 18. Registration is $50 per youth.

Natchez Ballet Academy
Kids can attend either June 18-22 or June 25-29: Ballerina Princess Camp, ages 3-5, 10:30 a.m. to noon; Down the Rabbit Hole, ages 6-9, 12:30 to 2 p.m., $105 with a $35 deposit is due at registration and the balance is due by the first day of the Camp. Dance, crafts, games, a tea party and more.
Natchez Junior Cotillion, July 9-13: Little Girls Tea Party, ages 5-7, 10:30 a.m. to noon; Beginning Table Manner, Boys and girls, ages 6-12, 12:30 to 2 p.m., $80.

George W. Armstrong Library
The children’s summer reading program at George W. Armstrong Library will be at 10 a.m. each Tuesday from June 5-26 and 10 a.m. each Wednesday from June 6 to July 25 with a movie matinee at 2 p.m.
The adult’s summer reading program is scheduled at 2:30 p.m. on June 14-28. An adult wreath-making workshop will be at 10:30 a.m. June 2 at no cost. Attendees will need a wire wreath frame, 20 pipe cleaners, a roll of 21” Deco Mesh ribbon and desired decorations. For more information, call 601-445-8862.
Everyday Adventures
Kids Kayak Camps are scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon on June 16 and 23 for ages 7 and older. Participants will meet at Everyday Adventure on 334 Main St. at 9 a.m. The cost is $35 per child and lunch will be provided.
